I have grown deeply, madly, and almost dangerously in love with Tiye’s writing.

Unfortunately, I discovered Tiye’s work late. My first book by her was Rifts and Refrains, and it completely shook me. I was surprised and swept away by her ability to capture love, both platonic and romantic, alongside personal growth, ambition, history, conviction, the creative spirit, and even reparations, all in fewer than 400 pages. To my surprise, Rifts and Refrains wasn’t just another Black country romance. It deserves every bit of the hype, every discussion, and every adaptation pitch.

From there, I devoured her catalog, finishing the Resonance series before moving on to This Side of Beautiful. I’ve since dived into her Blues series and recently read Madly Driven, releasing June 30. It tells the story of two incredibly unlikely people navigating an enemies-to-lovers, forbidden romance that is as compelling as it is unexpected.

If you’re looking for romance that pushes the genre forward, stories that take creative risks, and explore love in fresh, thoughtful ways, you may be looking for Tiye. As we await the release of Madly Driven, explore Tiye’s catalog with me.
